Job Description

An elite contracting company in the near north neighborhood of Chicago is seeking a dynamic and sharp HR Coordinator to add to their team. The HR Coordinator will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Director of HR including maintaining and updating employee files and records, and managing the HRIS system. Additional responsibilities will include supporting the Risk Management Director with managing insurance claims and processing certificates of insurance. The salary for this role is $55-60k, commensurate with experience.

 

Responsibilities of the HR Coordinator:

  • Assist the Director of HR with recruiting and interviewing process; track progress within HRIS
  • Manage and update employee information in the HRIS system, and maintain personnel files
  • Assist Risk Management Director with managing insurance claims, and gathering appropriate documentation
  • Complete safety and insurance paperwork for new projects; manage certificates of insurance process for clients
  • Assist with new hire background and pre-employment screenings; assist with onboarding and new hire paperwork
  • Complete and process all I-9 forms; verify I-9 documentation, and maintain online I-9 files
  • Schedule meetings, post and update job boards, and maintain employee, risk management, safety, and benefits records
  • Other administrative duties as needed
Job Requirements

Requirements of the HR Coordinator:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in HR, Business, or Risk Management
  • 2+ years’ experience in Human Resources
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and ADP Workforce Now
  • Risk management experience highly preferred
  • Excellent prioritization, and time management skills
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with the utmost discretion
